In this series, ‘Organizational Structure to Fly’, we will be looking at the importance of the Organizational Structure of a Community Pharmacy Company referred to in my post.

And the Boots of the platoon came down in unison whooop!
That was the sound of the commander. Bellowing on the grounds. As the troops prepared to go into the operations for the day.
Shaka The Zulu
This reminds me of the story of Shaka the Zulu. Who was initiated as a child by a serpent. At the stream. And endued with diabolic powers to grow into a ruthless warrior. He is credited with the use of the bull horn military formation. And encirclement warfare method which is similar to a siege warfare. See a version of the story at the You Tube link video
Judas The Hammer
This brings me to another story of Judas the Hammer who utilized another formation and made a refreshing come back from the brink of collapse of his community. The formation that was often utilized was described in the Torah Numbers 10:14 . see picture
— Judah positioned in the Eastern side would go first into the battle. See the video below for some of the battle action.
These stories and videos show the importance of structure . In the survival and success of a group of people -a company.
Organizational Structures
We have the Functional organizational structure. The Project type, and the Matrix which is a merger of the former two. In addition to these. We have different hybrid variations which seek to save costs. Or increase efficiency. Most Companies use the Matrix Organizational Structure variations. The type of structure you operate. Will depend on how you want to achieve your goals.
ABC Inc
In the ABC Inc Company below. The lowest level of management. In the case of a non engineering Company like a Pharmacy. Is the Assembly ( the Dispensary), the Testing (Care Home Assembly) and Quality (Pharmacist Checking). These constitute the back office operations ( manufacturing). The Customer Service (Consultations) and Domestic Sales. Would be under the Front Office Operations (Marketing). While the Care Home Assembly(Testing). Is more likely to be under project manager (that is Project Administration) . The Assembly will cover CDS dispensing and general Dispensing. Which would include both walk in and Prescriptions.
We would put in place the appropriate layout for the operations. This is to cater for contingencies(such as Covid 19 security). And also the Standard Operating Procedures( SOP) arising from the products/service objectives .
Staffing
Suffice it to say, that the Staffing at each position would be on a Full Time Employee (FTE) basis. This covers all the staff (full time, part time or temporary staff). Required to provide the duties of that position.
